Artist Rieko Fujinami will give a slide presentation, Anonymous: the artist looks at Faces, about her work and art philosophy, at the Howland Public Library Community Room, on Thursday, May 15, 7pm. This event is co-sponsored by the New York Foundation for the Arts, from whom, in 2007, she received a NYFA Fellowship Award , a highly competitive cash prize made to individual artists living and working in the state of New York.

She was born in Kisarazu, Japan, and knew from a early age that she wanted to be an artist. She received her undergraduate degree from Creative Art University and Graduate degree from Tama Art University, both in Tokyo. She has lived and worked in Beacon since 2003.
