PVHS Inducts New National Honor Society Members

The 2008 PVHS National Honor Society inductees stand for recognition at the beginning of the induction ceremony
On April 28, 2008, Putnam Valley High School (PVHS) proudly inducted 36 new members to the National Honor Society. Following the procession of the new members, the Pledge of Allegiance was led by inductee Kristen Macher, and the welcoming remarks read by chapter President, Esther Sportello. Selected inductees addressed the attributes of the National Honor Society: Anastasia Bailhache spoke on Scholarship, Giovanna Spica on Character, Lindsey Wood on Service, and Courtney Bobik on Leadership

The Presentation of the new members followed: Anastasia Bailhache, Michele Belanich, Courtney Bobik, Stephanie Borrell, Christopher Brothers, Julie Castro, Dillon Chesnut, Kimberly Christopher, Matthew Cordaro, Ian Cummings, Thomas Elbrecht, Kaicee Gallo, Victoriea Hamilton, Janelle Herelle, Jenna Isabella, Daniella Leifer, Kristen Macher, Megan Mahoney, Katelin Martin, Lauren McIntyre, Michael Mondelli, Ashley Morgan, Kristin Otero, Hannah Parzen, Nicole Scott, Giovanna Spica, Kaicee Tannone, Joanna Truglio, Heather Valle, Alyssa Volpe, Kristina Vucetic, Tina Wallach, Ciara Walsh, Thomas Wharton, Caitlin White, Lindsey Wood

The members then recited National Honor Society Pledge

"I pledge myself to uphold the high purposes of the Na- tional Honor Society

To which I have been selected: I will be true to the principles for which it stands; I will be loyal to my school; and will maintain and encourage high standards of scholarship, service, leadership and character."

Administrative representatives included: Dr. Marc Space, Superintendent of Schools; Richard Herlihy, Interim Principal; and Board of Education Trustees Frank Reale and Guy Cohen. The members of the National Honor Society Faculty Committee are faculty members Regina Albano, Linda Cefaloni, Jerri Cohen, Vincent DeGregorio, and Lisa Penta, and the National Honor Society Advisor is Edward Schmitt.
