Cold Spring Woman Arrested in Theft of Credit Card
Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the arrest of a 20-year-old Cold Spring woman on Grand Larceny charges after being accused of stealing her grandmother's credit card.
On May 1, 2008, the Putnam County Sheriff's Office received a complaint from a Cold Spring resident reporting that a credit card had been stolen from her residence. Investigator Robert Ferris of the Bureau of Criminal Investigation investigated the matter. As a result of his probe, Investigator Ferris learned that the complainant's granddaughter had stolen the credit card and used it at several Dutchess County retail businesses.
Later that day, Dana A. Harrington of 10 Hyvue Terrace, Cold Spring, was located at a friend's house and taken into custody. She was charged with Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree, a class "E" felony. Ms. Harrington was arraigned before Philipstown Town Justice Steven Tomann and remanded to the Putnam County Correctional Facility in lieu of $2,500 cash bail. She is due to return to court on May 14, 2008.
Upon conviction of Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree, a court may impose of sentence of imprisonment for up to four years in a New York State correctional facility.
