Master Gardener Michael Dupris to Speak at Tioronda Garden Club Meeting

On Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at 7pm, the Tioronda Garden Club will hold its monthly meeting at the Howland Center in Beacon. The club meets the second Wednesday of each month except during January & February.

The primary objectives of the Tioronda Garden Club are to increase interest in gardening, advance the practical knowledge of the care and culture of flowers, shrubs, and trees, arouse public interest in environmental concerns, and in conserving the natural beauty and resources of the City of Beacon and New York State.

A major project of the club is to beautify Beacon in all seasons of the year. Very soon the city will see Main Street blooming with flower boxes and hanging baskets as well as a number of other areas in the city. During the holiday season, the club also decorates Main Street and Beacon's historic sites.

For further information, please call Bob Haight, program chairperson at 831-6673 or Gary Barrack, president at 831- 9199.

The Howland Cultural Center is located at the east end of Main Street (477) in Beacon. For information and/or directions, please call 883-4988.
