Fr. Bernie Palka, S.A., President Of St. Christophers Inn Honored by NCADD of Westchester
The National Council on Alcoholism & Drug Dependence of Westchester honored Fr. Bernie Palka, S.A., CASAC, CEO and President of St. Christopher's Inn at their 6th Annual Luncheon on Thursday, May 8 at the Westchester Country Club in Rye, NY. Harris B. Stratyner, Ph.D, CASAC will serve as Master of Ceremonies of the event which featured Actor/Author Malachy McCourt as the Keynote Speaker.
St. Christopher's Inn, a ministry of the Franciscan Friars of the Atonement, is a temporary homeless shelter dedicated to the rehabilitation of men in crisis. St. Christopher's Inn offers a continuum of quality health care services that facilitate physical, emotional, and spiritual healing by providing Chemical Dependency Treatment, Primary Health Care, and temporary housing. In 2007, St. Christopher's Inn helped nearly 1,000 individuals move forward in their journey towards recovery.
The National Council on Alcoholism & Drug Dependence, located in Westchester County, is dedicated to helping eradicate the stigma of addiction and educate the public regarding the disease of chemical dependency.

Fr. Palka has been an integral part of the St. Christopher's Inn since he was appointed CEO and President. During his tenure, he has been a visionary leader, greatly impacting the Inn's programs and the thousands of men that have visited the Inn over the years.
