Community Members Get in the Act to Help Hudson Highlands Land Trust Host 4th Annual Family Festival

Join the Hudson Highlands Land Trust for its 4th Annual Family Festival this Saturday and you are likely to see lots of familiar faces - and hear several very familiar Hudson Valley voices.

Cold Spring resident, Kacey Morabito of WHUD's Mike and Kacey in the Morning radio show will emcee this year, and Garrison's own Stacey Labriola and Pete Rundquist will share their musical talents by performing a lively kids sing-along set to start the festival off. The event will also feature the music of Poughkeepsie-based band NO BRAKES - a favorite on the Hudson Valley bluegrass circuit.

The Philipstown Recreation Department will assist with some organized activities for both adults and children and other local organizations including the Philipstown Greenway Committee, Local Yokels, and Glynwood Center will have informational exhibits. Dozens of volunteers from the Haldane School Foundation and The Garrison Children's Education Fund will lend a hand too.

"We are fortunate to have an abundance of talented individuals living locally, and even more fortunate that these generous folks are willing to lend their time to make the Festival a success. This is community spirit at its finest." remarked Nancy Montgomery, Event Coordinator.

Local businesses like Riverview Restaurant and Pepsi Cola of the Hudson Valley have donated services and products to help make the event a success too. The Family Festival is being sponsored through the generosity of Turner Construction Company.

"We are expecting more than 300 friends, neighbors and visitors to join us on Saturday. Community events like this really illustrate what is special about life in the Hudson Highlands." commented Andy Chmar, HHLT Executive Director.

The Family Festival will take place on Saturday, June 21 at Philipstown Park on Route 9D in Garrison, NY. The festivities begin at 4pm with live music and lots of fun, outdoor activities. Barbeque dinner will be served at 5:30pm.
