First Presbyterian Announces Summer Schedule

The First Presbyterian Church of Philipstown, Cold Spring, has announced its summer schedule. Beginning this Sunday July 6 and through August 30, Sunday worship will begin at 9:30am.

The exception to this will be the on Sunday August 3, when the congregation will hold its second annual outdoor worship followed by church picnic on the grounds of the Garrison Fish and Game Club. For this event, worship will begin at 10:30 followed by a picnic, in which attendees are requested to bring their own drinks, plates and utensils as well as a salad to share.

Some guest preachers who will be participating in worship this summer include: Rev. Dick Snyder, former Garrison resident and former Parish Associate of the First Presbyterian Church, who will be visiting the area and preaching on Sunday July 13. Dr. Cynthia Ligenza, local physician and violinist, is also an interfaith minister and will be preaching on Sunday July 20.

Sunday services will be led by the Rev. Leslie Mott, Pastor, and Tom McCoy, Music Director. The First Presbyterian Church is located at 10 Academy Street, Cold Spring, one block from the intersection of Routes 301 and 9D. For further information please call the church office at 265-3220.
