Knights of Columbus Announce Officers

Loretto Council No. 536 announces its new officers for the 2008 - 2009 year.

The officers are: Grand Knight Timothy Case, Chaplain Fr. Brian McSweeney, Associate Chaplain Fr. Gabriel Awuafor, Deputy Grand Knight John Gilsenan, Chancellor Philip D'Amato and Recorder Terry Thorpe.

Other officers named were Financial Secretary Thomas Des Marais, Treasurer Bob Flaherty, Lecturer Albert Vitiello, Advocate Paul Grandetti, Warden John Scherer, Guards Bruce Campbell and Steve Marino.

The Board of Trustees includes: Angelo Constantino, Daniel Dillon and Peter McFadden.

The Knights of Columbus is the world's largest lay Catholic organization, with 1.7 million members in the United States, Canada, the Philippines, Mexico, Central America, and Poland. It provides members and their families with volunteer opportunities in service to the Catholic Church, the community, families and young people. In 2007 the Knights of Columbus worldwide raised and distributed more than $ 144,911,781 to charity and rendered more than 68,695,768 hours of volunteer service.

Cumulative figures show that during the past decade, the Knights of Columbus has donated nearly $1.25 billion to charity, and provided in excess of 593 million hours of volunteer service in support of charitable causes
