Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the arrest of a Town of Philipstown man for violating an order of protection held against him by his wife.

On August 17, 2008 at 1:10pm, Deputy Sheriff James Stasiak responded to a report of a dispute at 147 Route 301 in the Town of Philipstown. The defendant was processed at the Putnam County Sheriff's Department Philipstown Substation and arraigned before Town of Philipstown Justice Alan Steiner, The defendant was released in his own recognizance pending an August 20, 2008 appearance in the Town of Philipstown Justice Court to answer the charges.

If found guilty of the misdemeanor charges, the defendant could face up to one year in jail and a fine of up to $1000 for each charge.
