Philipstown Man Charged With Violating Court Order
Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the arrest of a Town of Philipstown man for violating an order of protection held against him by his wife.
On August 17, 2008 at 1:10pm, Deputy Sheriff James Stasiak responded to a report of a dispute at 147 Route 301 in the Town of Philipstown. The deputy determined that Bjorn J, Holubar, 40, of that address had locked his wife in a room inside the residence in clear violation of an order of protection that his wife holds against him. The deputy arrested Mr. Holubar and charged him with Unlawful Imprisonment in the Second Degree and with Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree, misdemeanors. The defendant was processed at the Putnam County Sheriff's Department Philipstown Substation and arraigned before Town of Philipstown Justice Alan Steiner, The defendant was released in his own recognizance pending an August 20, 2008 appearance in the Town of Philipstown Justice Court to answer the charges.
If found guilty of the misdemeanor charges, the defendant could face up to one year in jail and a fine of up to $1000 for each charge.
