47th Buffalo Soldier Memorial Ceremony to be Held at West Point
West Point will host the 47th annual Buffalo Soldier Memorial Ceremony at Buffalo Soldier Field on Sunday, Aug. 31, at 12:15pm. The Ceremony will honor the 9th and 10th Cavalry Regiments of the Buffalo Soldiers. These black Soldiers have a proud tradition of exemplary service to the nation in the Indian Wars; Spanish- American War; both World Wars; and the Korean Conflict.
The guest speaker for the event is Maj. Marvetta Walker, U.S. Army retired. The public is cordially invited to join the Buffalo Soldiers and their families for the ceremony.
