Reported Baseball Bat Robbery in Cold Spring Village Being Investigated Village of Cold Spring Police and Putnam Sheriff's Office seek information on reported Marion Avenue attack
The Village of Cold Spring Police Department in conjunction with the Putnam County Sheriff's Office is conducting an investigation into a reported Robbery that occurred on Monday, August 25, 2008 at 10pm.
The victim, while walking and talking on his cell phone, on Marion Avenue near Wall Street in the Village was approached by an unknown subject. The subject confronted the victim with a baseball bat and demanded his money. After taking approximately $5 and his cell phone the subject fled north on Marion Avenue and west on Wall Street. The victim was unharmed.
Subject's description is a male, with a dark colored hooded sweatshirt ("hoodie"), approximately 5'-9", carrying a blue metal baseball bat.
Units from Cold Spring PD, Putnam County SO aided by MTA PD K9 unit conducted an area search but were unable to locate the subject. The investigation is continuing.
