Bill Gouldman is the Republican Candidate for 90th Assembly District
The following is his Position Statement:

"I have been running to become the new Assemblyman from the 90th Assembly District since December of 2007. On Election Day you can vote for me on either the Republican or Conservative line.

Sandra Galef hasn't brought common sense or reality to Albany because it continues to spend more than it can afford. That's why we now pay the highest property taxes in the nation.

"Mrs. Galef and her colleagues have refused to make the hard financial choices you and I are forced to make every day in order to make ends meet. Albany still squanders $9 billion a year through Medicaid waste and fraud.

"Can you believe 30,000 people who have left the state continue to rip us off? Why hasn't Assemblywoman Galef done something about it? Maybe it is because she has become part of the Albany Arrogance, otherwise known as "Assemblywoman Knows Best" You go to Albany, ignore the will of the people and vote with the special interests.

"In fact, Sandra Galef has fallen asleep at the switch at a time when we need more electricity and power plants. We are facing the real possibility of electrical blackouts as early as 2014 and she let the laws that we need to build new power plants expire. Sandra Galef doesn't get it, that's why under her watch Westchester now pays the highest property taxes in America. Try as she may, Mrs. Spin can't spin what is true. Mrs. Galef voted twice in previous sessions of the Assembly against Capping Property Taxes. She is the Chairwoman of the Assembly Committee on Property Taxes and has been unable to bring Tax Cap legislation to the floor of the Assembly this year. These times demand that Albany do more with less. That's why I'm running for State Assembly

"Sandra Galef and her Assembly colleagues keep reaching deeper into our pockets forcing us to make financial choices we never could have imagined! Seniors on fixed incomes are being forced to choose between food and warmth. Its' unacceptable that families must choose between taking their kids to the doctor when they are sick or buying the school clothes they constantly out grow.

"More than 1.2 million of us have been squeezed out of our homes by the highest property taxes in America. NY State has lost more jobs than any other state in the nation. We can't wait for Sandra Galef to see the light.

"To serve you, your Assembly representative must respond to what is on your mind. He or she must take to the Assembly chambers the things that matter to you - the issues that you are talking about around your kitchen tables. We can't move ahead by simply staring into the rear view mirror!

"I want to go to the Assembly and shake up Albany. I'll cap property taxes, and put a stop payment on Albany's blank check spending. I'll cut the waste and the fraud so that money gets to where it is supposed to go: our children in the classroom and the neediest among us.

"Repeating policies from the past and hoping they will produce a different result has not worked in 25 years. In fact Albert Einstein defined that as insanity.

"This election is about keeping more money in our pockets where it belongs.

"On Nov 4 you'll make a choice. It's not what either Mrs. Galef or I say that will determine the outcome. It is who you believe will be most effective in helping you get through these unprecedented hard times.

"I am confident that you will not turn over the keys to someone who will drive us deeper into a financial abyss. To make ends meet we need an Assemblyman who understands we need to keep more of our money where it belongs, in our pockets."
