Blessing and Planting of Spring Bulbs at Graymoor

In the spirit of St. Francis, the Franciscan Friars of the Atonement are encouraging the cultivation of flowers as a means of deepening humankind's relationship and responsibility to creation and to God by holding a blessing and planting of bulbs on Sunday, October 19 immediately after the 11am Mass in Pilgrim Hall. Participants are welcome to bring Spring flowering bulbs and a trowel/bulb planter and to pick a spot at Graymoor where they may plant tulips, daffodils, or other flowers that will bloom gorgeously next Spring. .

The Franciscan Friars of the Atonement are a Roman Catholic order of brothers and priests founded in 1898 by Father Paul Wattson at Graymoor in Garrison. Their worldwide ministries include Christian unity and interfaith dialogue among Christians, Jews, Muslims, and Buddhists; serving the homeless and those suffering from alcoholism, drug addictions, and HIV/AIDS; preaching the gospel in parishes around the world, and offering respite and hope to those in need of spiritual renewal.

Graymoor is located in Garrison, on Route 9, five miles north of Peekskill and thirteen miles south of I-84. For more information, please call 424- 2111.
