Upcoming Blood Drive Honors Candy Zgolinski Friday November 7 Event at Haldane Acknowledges School Nurse who has helped collect over 3,000 pints of blood during her tenure
Ann (Candy) Zgolinski has been on a life saving mission since she went back to school in her late 40's to become a nurse. Imagine, having the strength of character and the necessary will and determination to take on such a challenge in mid life.
Candy's first job was at the old Butterfield Hospital. Just two years later, in 1995, the hospital in Cold Spring closed and it wasn't clear where she would land. Shortly after this occurrence a nursing position opened up at Haldane. Now, fifteen years later, Candy has established herself as an indispensible part of the Haldane staff. Youngsters of all ages come to her office for help and she never hesitates to find a way to make them more comfortable and healthier than they were when they stepped into her office.
During her tenure at Haldane Candy has supervised the blood drive program and helped to collect over 3,000 pints of lifesaving blood. Del Fidanque, Chairman is pleased to announce that, on November 7, the Philipstown Community Blood Drive is proud to honor Candy's service to the children of Haldane and the general community of Philipstown. Please show your support by attending the drive at the Haldane Gym between 2:30 and 8pm.
