Bill Gouldman the Better Choice for State Assembly
Dear Editor,

Hate your high property taxes? You have Albany's special interests to thank. Unfunded education mandates are one of the primary cost-drivers for counties and local municipalities. Albany politicians routinely force these taxing jurisdictions to increase their property-tax levies in order to cover mandated costs of programs ranging from antiquated progress-reporting methods to legal aid for teachers. As a taxpayer and homeowner in a 21st century democracy, I should not be forced to foot the bill for services I have no control over.

Luckily, Bill Gouldman, Assembly candidate for the 90th district, agrees with me. Mr. Gouldman is a true fiscal conservative, a businessman, and a fellow property-tax payer who is fed up with our broken system. He's willing to take on the Albany special interests in a way our current go-along, getalong career politicians never could. He wants to eliminate unfunded mandates on school districts and finally add accountability to battle Albany's dysfunction. Sanity in our state legislature? Makes sense to me. Elect Bill Gouldman to end unfunded mandates.
