The Haldane PTA Announces Kickoff of Reflections Program
The Haldane PTA will officially kick off the 2008-2009 National PTA Reflections Arts Program at the Haldane Middle and High School.
The theme for this year's program is "WOW!" The National PTA Reflections Program is a national arts recognition and achievement program open to grades 6 through 12 in the areas of literature, musical composition, photography, visual arts, dance choreography, and film production.
The works of art will be judged by professionals in their respective arts areas, and selected works will be advanced to the Taconic Region level. From that point, selected works will advance to the state or national levels for judging.
This is a wonderful opportunity for children to express themselves creatively and to be recognized for their achievements.
The National PTA Reflections program is more than 39 years old. Ten million-plus students have participated in the program since it was created.
The National PTA encourages its nearly 5.5 million members to be involved in key child education and welfare issues. The organization serves as an advocate for children and families in schools and their communities.
The PTA's wish is to see "Reflections" participation increase to truly "reflect" this community's connection to the arts. Haldane has a solid reputation for excellence in numerous programs. Haldane students can also excel in the arts. They just need to know about the program.

For students planning on a career in the arts, this program can be beneficial for listing on college applications for extra curricular activities and a good confidence builder for all students.
