Philipstown's "MITEY" Hawks Dominate Peekskill

It was noon time at Depew Park in Peekskill. The Hawks were preparing for their game against the Peekskill Titans. The game began with a kickoff to the Hawks which was downed by Brandon Hodge on the Hawks' 18-yard line. On the first drive, the Hawks showed their discipline by catching Peekskill on penalties for going offside. Dominic Chirico and Brandon Hodge worked well together gaining 82 total yards and ended up with a touchdown in favor of the Hawks making the score 6-0. On the extra point attempt, Peekskill was penalized with a personal foul for kicking a Hawk of in the back the head when he was down.

Thomas Percacciolo kicked the ball to the Titans' 35-yard line and play began. The Hawks' defense allowed no more than 8 yards on Peekskill's possession and the Titans were forced to turn the ball over to the Hawks on their 39-yard line. The first quarter ended with an incomplete pass from Michael Telesco to Brandon Hodge, but that soon would be forgotten.

The first play of the second quarter, the offensive line including Michael Champlin, Joe D'Eustachio, Derek McMasters, Wilson Thorpe and Brooke Vahos created huge holes to enable a great run by Brandon Hodge that ended up in another touchdown followed up by a successful extra point making the score 13-0.

The half ended with great plays by the Hawks' defense including Brooke Vahos, Joey DiGregorio and Derek Champi. As the second half of the game began, Nicholas DiPalo forced a fumble which was recovered by Joe D'Eustachio. On the next drive, Dominic Chirico, Brandon Hodge and Nicholas DiPalo demonstrated an abundance of teamwork running all over the Titans' defense and eventually scored a touchdown making the score 25-7.

After another fumble recovery by the Hawks' aggressive defense with Kevin Barry, Mike Chefalo, Liam Irwin and Anthony Lombardo, the Hawks took over on their own 47-yard line. The rest of the game, both defenses prevented further scoring and the score remained 25- 7, the Hawks win! Good job to William Martin, Nicholas Telesco, Nicholas DiPalo along with the rest of the Hawks for their amazing effort and putting on an impressive performance yet again. They held up their helmets in triumph and I couldn't have been happier for them.
