"Daylight Through Granite" (Part 1 of 3)
It had been a typical rural dirt road that had journeyed 2 miles from Cold Spring north to Breakneck Mountain. Undefined is any local documentation of when the dirt highway was laid, or from where it had emanated. Reasonably assured it is, however, to judge that the dusty roadway would have likely been constructed c. 1849, shortly after the railroad came through Breakneck.
