Edward J. Dahlia

Edward J. Dahlia passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Feb. 25, 2009 at Hudson Valley Hospital Center in Peekskill, NY.

Born on August 12, 1938, he was the son of the late Dominic and Margaret Lemon Dahlia. He graduated from Haldane High School in 1956 at which time he enlisted in the US Navy from which he received an Honorable Discharge. For many years he was a member of the Painters Union and then the Owner/ Operator of his own painting company until his retirement. Ed was a true blue NY Giants fan and an avid fisher.

Edward is survived by his wife, Lillian Fleming Dahlia, of the home address in Cold Spring, along with their two children, son Todd of Cold Spring and daughter Teri Allen of Cold Spring. Three grandchildren, Claire and Ryan Dahlia of Cold Spring, and Kayla Allen of Cold Spring. His brothers, Roger (Anna) Dahlia of Wappingers Falls, Donald (Patty) Dahlia of Cold Spring, Michael (Carole) Dahlia of Poughkeepsie, sister Mary Dahlia Scalpi of Cold Spring and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Douglas John Dahlia and David Dahlia, and two sisters, Barbara Ford and Peggy DeRonda.

Graveside Services were held Tuesday, March 3 at Cold Spring Cemetery, Cold Spring.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Haldane Football Association, Craigside Dr. Cold Spring, NY 10516.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Libby Funeral Home, Inc. 55 Teller Ave, Beacon, NY 12508.
