Putnam FCU Donates Food to Community Action Program
Putnam Federal Credit Union recently completed a canned food drive, held in January 2009 to benefit Putnam Community Action Program (PCAP). Members donated two non-perishable canned goods at a PFCU branch and, in return, the Credit Union deposited $5 in a Holiday Club account. Bags full of canned goods were recently dropped off at PCAP, thanks to the generous donations of PFCU members. Members brought in soups, stews, chili, tuna, beans, and vegetables.
"Feeding the hungry is an important and often overlooked issue in our community." said Sal Gambino, PFCU's President/ CEO. "Putnam FCU is pleased to help replenish local food panty shelves in order to get good and nutritious foods to those in need. We're also pleased to help PFCU members start their early savings habits for the holidays!"
PCAP is an anti-poverty program dedicated to serving those residents of Putnam County, who are struggling to support themselves and/or their families. Since 1986, PCAP has helped thousands of families overwhelmed with the hardships of everyday life.
