Taconic Truck Mishap Ties up Morning Commute
An eight-hour closure of the Taconic State Parkway in Putnam Valley Monday resulted in one of the region's most serious traffic jams in recent memory. State Police at Stormville identified the culprit of the catastrophe as a man from Georgia who according to Sgt. Michael Piasecki was "following the directions of his vehicle's GPS device. Full Story

Daffodil sales benefit cancer research
Spring has arrived a few days early in Putnam County, thanks to the local chapter of the American Cancer Society. A truck carrying 50,000 daffodils dropped off the freshly cut flowers Monday in Cold Spring and Mahopac Falls, where an army of volunteers sorted and packaged the beautiful yellow flowers for distribution this week throughout the region.
