Alfred J. Lupparelli

Alfred J. Lupparelli, age 86, of Carmel, formerly of Cold Spring, died on Wednesday, March 18, 2009, at Putnam Hospital Center in Carmel.

Born October 3, 1922 in Wappingers Falls, he was the son of the late Angelo and Maria (Borasi) Lupparelli.

Mr. Lupparelli, a WWII U.S. Army Veteran, was a retired machinist for Standard Brands in Peekskill, and in later years worked as a delivery man for the former Spartan Motors in Poughkeepsie. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Loretto Church in Cold Spring.

He was predeceased by his wife, Kathleen A. (Forster) Lupparelli, in January of 1993. He is survived by his daughter, Lori Garrison, and her husband, Ralph, of Cold Spring; one brother, John Lupparelli of Pleasant Valley, NY; two sisters, Barbara Lund, of Wappingers Falls, NY, and Gloria Thorne, of Glenham, NY. Three granddaughters, Jennifer, Shelley, and Rebecca Garrison, and several nieces and nephews also survive him. Four sisters, Jeanette Germano, Amelia Decker, Ada DeAprile, and Maria Lupparelli, and two brothers, Nathan and Raymond Lupparelli, predeceased him.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at Our Lady of Loretto Church, and interment followed at Cold Spring Cemetery. Friends called on March 20 at the Clinton Funeral Home, Cold Spring. Donations may be made in Mr. Lupparelli's name to the Senator Vincent Leibell Retirement Home, 9 Drew Lane, Carmel, NY 10512.
