Townhouses for Marathon Site?
Developer Requests Re-zoning to Accommodate 22 Units
In response to a request from Ken Kearney of the Kearney Realty and Development Group, the mayor and trustees of Cold Spring held a workshop meeting on May 5, 2009, to listen to his request that two parcels of land be re-zoned from light industrial to residential. The larger parcel at 6.9 acres comprises the Marathon Battery brownfield site. The other a parcel is 4.8 acres and located to the south and directly adjacent to the West Point Foundry Preserve. Mr. Kearney would like to create a 22-unit town house development with resident and public parking on the larger site. The plan also includes an open space, the use of which would be determined by the village. Under his proposal, the smaller site would become a 13-lot residential development.
