Lake Peekskill youth charged with second degree murder; planned on robbing Garrison Garage
Sheriff Donald Smith announced the arrest Tuesday of a Lake Peekskill man in connection with the senseless killing of John Marcinak, the popular owner of the garage and towing business on Dec. 31, 2008. Anthony Grigoroff, 18, of 52 Morrissey Drive in the Lake Peekskill section of Putnam Valley faces a murder charge carrying a prison term of 25 years to life. Full Story

The library was filled with parents and children for the June 3, 2009, Garrison School Board meeting. The students were present to sing the National Anthem and receive awards from the New York State School Music Association as well as All County Music recognitions. There was at least one light moment at the June 4, 2009, meeting of the Philipstown Town Board. It happened during the last item on the agenda, the period set aside for comments from the public. Spurred by Quad, Village Might Welcome More Boats
The Cold Spring Village Board workshop on June 2, 2009, began with a public hearing on a proposed local law to amend the Village Code regarding the docking of boats. At present no boat of any kind is permitted to dock at Waterfront Park. The proposed amendment would give the board the power to grant exemptions from this law for temporary docking. Full Story
