Hudson Highlands Land Trust Hosts Family Festival

This Saturday, June 13th, the Hudson Highlands Land Trust (HHLT) invites residents and visitors to join them at the Claudio Marzollo Community Center of Philipstown, off Route 9D in Garrison, for the 5th Annual HHLT Family Festival-- a rollicking, old-fashioned community barbeque celebrating the beauty of the Highlands. The festivities begin at 4pm with live music and lots of fun, outdoor activities. Barbeque dinner will be served at 5:30pm.

The event will again feature the music of Poughkeepsie bluegrass band NO BRAKES, with local talents Stacey Labriola and Pete Rundquist joined by Louie Miranda starting things off with a set of musical favorites especially for kids. Folk singer Margaret Vetare is also set to perform.

Once again, the Land Trust will donate all event proceeds to the Garrison Children's Education Fund and the Haldane School Foundation in support of school environmental programs. The Family Festival is being sponsored through the generosity of Turner Construction Company. This year, Philipstown Recreation and Open Space Institute will serve as hosts, with the festival taking place on the beautiful recreation center grounds. The Festival will also feature a raffle with prizes donated by local businesses including Hudson Valley Outfitters, Photography by Frank Famularo, and Second Wind CSA.

Tickets for the Family Festival are $10/individual or $15 the day of, and $25/family or $30 the day of, and include dinner. Tickets are on sale now at the Land Trust office at 1180 Route 9D in Garrison and will also be available at the admission table on the day of the event at Philipstown Park.
