Veronica Cretelli

Veronica "Bonnie" Cretelli, a life long Cold Spring resident, died on Friday, November 13, 2009, at Wingate at Dutchess. She was 91. Born in Cold Spring on July 6, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Catherine (Trimble) Monroe. She was the widow of the late Jacob E. Cretelli, who pre-deceased her in 1995.

Mrs. Cretelli was a homemaker and a parishioner of Our Lady of Loretto church.

Survivors include one son, Edward J. (Rosemarie) Cretelli, of Cold Spring; one daughter, Diane (Gary) Hattersley, of LaGrangeville, NY; three sisters, Mildred Le Fevre of Claverack, NY, Lucille Komasa and Margaret Merandy, both of Cold Spring; three grandchildren, Donna Friedrich, Matthew Hattersley, and Eileen Thompson. Three great grandchildren, Alek, Emma, and Noah, also survive. Four brothers, Dorsey, Samuel, John, Richard Monroe, and two sisters, Esther Monroe and Martha Wells, pre-deceased her.

A Mass of Christian Burial was offered on November 16 at Our Lady of Loretto Church. Interment followed in Cold Spring Cemetery. Family and friends called at the Clinton Funeral Home on November 15. Arrangements were under the direction of the Clinton Funeral Home Cold Spring.
