James M. Halligan

James M. Halligan, age 75, of Cold Spring, died on Wednesday, November 25, 2009, at his residence. Born on June 6, 1934, he was the son of the late James and Catherine (Gargan) Halligan.

Mr. Halligan was an electrician for Penn Central Railroad and a 33-year area resident, coming from the Bronx after his retirement. He was a member of Cold Spring Fire Co. #1.

Survivors include his sister, Roseann Dyevick, of Red Bank, NJ. Several nieces and nephews, and many great nieces and nephews also survive. One brother, John Halligan, pre-deceased him.

A Mass of Christian Burial was offered on November 28, 2009, at Our Lady of Loretto. Interment followed in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY. Donations may be made to Putnam County Humane Society, 68 Old Route 6, Carmel, NY, 10516. Arrangements were under the direction of the Clinton Funeral Home, Cold Spring.
