Talk of our Town
There is a unique opportunity to become an EMT or take a refresher course very close to home. See the full page ad in this week's PCN&R. Courses are being offered at the North Highlands Fire Department. The Philipstown Community Blood Drive will be held in the Haldane Gym from 2-8pm on February 12.
We don't know if there will be six more weeks of winter or if we will have an early spring. The groundhogs couldn't agree: Chuck from Staten Island said spring is coming early and Phil from Punxsutawny said nope, it's more winter. Final decision may rest with the groundhog who emerged from somewhere in Nanci and Damien MacDonald's yard in Philipstown's northern reaches. Dubbed "East Mountain Road Eddie," he chose Groundhog Day morning to make his first appearance of the season, so if he thinks it's nearly spring, who are we to argue?.
