PV's Jazz Ensemble Concert Raises Money for Haiti

At Putnam Valley High School's recent winter band concert, the Putnam Valley High School Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Mr. Ryan Odell, played a version of Charles Mingus's "Haitian Fight Song." After the performance, the school's Tri-M Music Honor Society, under the student leadership of Stephanie Stoisits, Sarah Liscia, and Mike Byrne, passed a few hats among the audience seeking donations to help the victims of the devastating earthquake that struck Haiti. Due to their efforts, $375.85 was raised through the generous donations of the audience. The student honor society will make a charitable contribution to The American Red Cross.
