Houlihan Lawrence Honors the Memory of Our Dear Friend and Colleague “Bunny”
Bernadette Adams of Stormville, New York, died peacefully in her home on Saturday, February 27, 2010. She was born on February 3, 1948, in Queens, N.Y., the sixth of seven children of Josephine Ricigliano Adams and Charles Adams. She grew up in North Merrick, Long Island, and graduated from Sacred Heart Academy and Fordham University.
After graduation, Bunny worked in the field of medical research at Columbia University. During those years she lived communally with a group of friends who, with their children, continue to share holidays, vacations, and life passages together as a “family” based in loving connection and mutual support. In the late 1970s she moved to Rockport, MA, to live next to the sea and realized her dream of becoming a stained glass artist.
Bunny was a devoted mother, offering love, celebration, travel, and an active participation in her son Per’s school life. As Per became older she entered a new profession as a real estate broker with Houlihan Lawrence in Cold Spring, New York.
Bunny had the remarkable qualities of creativity, intelligence, humor, hospitality, and a strong will. She was a world traveler, artist, a lover of the dance, and an incredible cook. Bunny had a genuine interest in people and their lives, a helpful and generous nature, and a sense of humor with the ability to laugh, even in the darkest of situations.
The unfailing courage and graceful acceptance with which she met the last difficult years of her life inspired love and devotion from her care givers, family, friends, and colleagues at Houlihan Lawrence.
Memorial donations may be made to Westchester/Putnam Hospice, in gratitude for their loving care that eased Bunny’s final year.
We will miss you, Bunny. Your family at Houlihan Lawrence
