Reflecting on Holy Week and sacred traditions
This week two sacred festivals are celebrated: Passover, for the Jewish people, and Holy Week for Christians. Passover, which began Monday at sundown, was instituted to keep alive the story of how God delivered the Israelites from Egyptian bondage. Each year, Jews eat unleavened bread, lamb, and other symbolic foods to recall the events of long ago.
