Albert F. Cahill

Albert F. Cahill of Fishkill, formerly of Cold Spring and New Fairfield, CT, passed away on April 18, 2010, at Elant at Fishkill. He was 81. He was born on April 2, 1929, in Danbury, to the late Augustas and Bertha Davis Cahill.

Albert was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving during both World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was the Chairman of Union Local 1251 for 15 years; founder and Charter Member of the Baid Pond Fire Department in New Fairfield CT. He had also been a member of St. Edwards The Confessor Church in New Fairfield.

He was retired from Republic Foil in Danbury, where he was a metal worker for 35 years.

On July 26, 1985, he married Barbara Brumble in Cold Spring.

Survivors include his devoted wife Barbara Inness Cahill of Fishkill; loving children Cornnie Rivera of Florida; Lizbeth Moroney of Sandy Hook, CT; Karen Hyde of Danbury; Jay Cahill, Shawn Cahill, and Albert Cahill, Jr., all of New Hampshire; step-daughter, Pamela McNamara, of Fishkill; his dear sister, Mary Lindock of Bridgeport; a dear brother, Joe Cahill of Bridgeport; and 6 cherished grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 24, at 1pm at the Fishkill United Methodist Church, 38 Broad St., Fishkill.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Stroke Association, P.O. Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13220 in Albert’s memory.
