O’Neill HS Chorus Takes First Place in Competition

James I. O’Neill Men’s, Women’s, and Select choirs, under the direction of Chris Reynolds Sheehan participated this past weekend in the “Toronto Festivals 4 Music” where they competed against 12 other groups from Connecticut, Rhode Island, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Quebec, Canada.

Men’s choir took 2nd place with a rating of Excellent.

Select choir took 1st place with a rating of Superior, and also took the award for Best Mixed Choir.

Women’s choir also took 1st place, with a Superior rating and accepted the award for Best Overall Choir.

Eugenia and Marion Copeland tied for the “best overall vocalist” award.

The festival took place in Toronto as part of The Festivals of Music held around the world.
