On Thursday June 17, the entire Haldane Eighth grade class enjoyed a unique cultural outing sponsored by the Haldane School Foundation and organized by the Haldane foreign language department members and school administration.

This wonderful event was held at the Chalet On The Hudson, where students enjoyed a near perfect day, breathtaking views of the Hudson River, and Hispanic and French cuisine.

High School student volunteers Shauna Kalantri, Mary Mechalakos, Tess Dul, and eighth grade classmate Cali Schweikhart entertained the group with songs in Spanish, French, and English, and music on the piano.

This event culminates the middle school foreign language experience, which begins in Grade 7. Students hope it will become an annual event much like the Haldane High School Immersion Program.
