Jack Harrington

John L. “Jack” Harrington, age 71, lifelong resident of Cold Spring, NY, died on Sunday, August 8, 2010, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie.

Born March 4, 1939, in Cold Spring, he was the son of the late Henry B. and Edna I. (Jaycox) Harrington, Sr.

Mr. Harrington was a Mercedes Benz specialist and former owner/operator of Mainly Benz Service of Poughkeepsie. He was a member of the Cold Spring Boat Club and an avid racecar fan.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Falloon) Harrington, of the home address; three daughters, Lisa Harrington of Poughkeepsie, Dawn and Coleman Larlee II of Glenmont, NY, and Cheryl and Roger A. Chirico of Cold Spring; two brothers, James Harrington of TN and Gerald Harrington of Garrison; one sister, Mary Jane Reide of New York, NY; and five grandchildren, Dana Harrington, Coleman Larlee, Brittany Larlee, Sara Chirico, and Dominic Chirico. One brother, Henry B Harrington Jr., and one sister, Elizabeth Ann Circelli, predeceased him.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11am on Saturday, August 14, at South Highlands Methodist Church on Route 9 in Garrison. A private cremation has already taken place and there will be no visiting hours at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mr. Harrington’s name to The First Presbyterian Church of Philipstown Flower Fund, 10 Academy St, Cold Spring, NY 10516.

Arrangements are under the direction of Clinton Funeral Home, Cor. of Parrott and Pine Sts., Cold Spring, NY 10516.
