Robert ‘Bob’ Dahlia

Robert “Bob” Dahlia, 75 of Fairmont, WV passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2010, surrounded by his family.

Bob was born October 12, 1934, in Peekskill, son of the late Clara and Salvatore Dahlia.

Bob proudly served his country in the U.S. Marines from 1955 to 1959, achieving the rank of Sergeant. During his tour of duty, he was assigned to the aircraft carrier, USS Tarawa. After serving his county, Bob worked as a security officer at Sing Sing Prison in Ossining, for several years. He later was hired by IBM in New York as a security officer, where he worked for nearly 30 years.

His greatest hobby was following his favorite sports teams. He also enjoyed discussing politics and current events with his family and close friends.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Lena, of 50 years, three sons—Robert and his wife, Jennifer, of Tampa, FL; John and his wife, Gina, and their two children, Sabrina and Nicolas of Fairmont, WV; Mark of Croton-on-Hudson, NY; and his brother, Richard Dahlia of New York City.

He will be laid to rest on Wednesday, September 22, in Croton-on-Hudson, where he lived for much of his adult life.
