NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON COLD SPRING COMPREHENSIVE PLAN
TO BE HELD 7:30 PM THURSDAY, OCTOBER 14, 2010 AT THE COLD SPRING FIREHOUSE AT MAIN AND CHURCH STREET
A public hearing on the Village of Cold Spring’s Comprehensive Plan proposal will be held on October 14, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. at the Cold Spring Firehouse, Main and Church Street in Cold Spring.  The hearing, before the Cold Spring Special Board, will provide the opportunity for Village residents to express their opinions and concerns about the proposed Plan, and to ask any questions that they may have about the Plan.  The meeting is open to everyone, and all Cold Spring citizens are encouraged to attend.
The proposed Plan, which will also undergo further review and an additional public hearing by the Village Board of Trustees before it can be adopted, can be reviewed starting noon Wednesday, October 29, 2010, at the Village Hall at 85 Main Street, at the Butterfield Library at 10 Morris Avenue, and on the Internet at www.coldspringny.gov.  Those who want to obtain hard copies of the Plan may obtain them at the Village Hall in the Village Clerk’s office.
The 9-member Cold Spring Special Board for a Comprehensive Plan/Local Waterfront Revitalization Plan is made up of volunteer Cold Spring residents appointed by the Board of Trustees.  The draft plan, an update of the Village’s 1987 Master Plan, is the product of work that began four years ago.  The draft Plan presents goals, objectives and recommended actions as determined by the Special Board in a wide-ranging public survey, over 20 public forums, regular meetings, consultations with many local organizations, and after extensive research and debate. The draft Plan is a road map to achieve the goals and vision for the community, Prepare for the future, respect the past.
