Margaret T. “Peggy” Egan

Margaret T. “Peggy” Egan, age 72, a longtime resident of Cold Spring died on October 4, 2010, at Memorial Sloan- Kettering Cancer Center in New York, NY.

Born in New York City on April 9, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Bridget (McGarry) Flaherty.

Mrs. Egan, a homemaker, was a Parishioner of Our Lady of Loretto Church in Cold Spring, where she was very active with the activities committee, parish council, and served as past president of the Loretto School PTA. In later years she was employed as a clerk at the Butterfield Library in Cold Spring.

Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Charles Egan, of the home address; three sons, Charles Egan of Watertown, CT, Patrick Egan of Fairfield, CT, and Peter Egan of Shrub Oak; a daughter, Kathleen Howard of Poughkeepsie; two brothers, Peter Flaherty of Wappingers Falls and Edward Flaherty of Queens; five sisters, Kathleen Pascarella of Westfield, NJ, Mary Gray and Patricia Meyers, both of Queens, Nora Kinateder of Wappingers Falls, and Joan Klien of New York City; and six grandchildren, Patrick, Erin, Kasey, Charley, Emily, and Sean.

A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, October 9, at Our Lady of Loretto Church in Cold Spring, with interment at the Cold Spring Cemetery.
