Junior Choir Presents ‘Moses and the Freedom Fanatics’

On November 14, fifteen members of the Junior Choir performed “Moses and the Freedom Fanatics: A musical drama for young voices about the Exodus, words and music by Hal H. Hopson,” during the 10:30am Morning Prayer and Sermon Service at St. Philip’s Church in the Highlands, presided by Rev. Francis H. Geer.
Led by Amy Richter, Junior Choir Director and Durward Entrekin, Music Director, the children learned and studied their songs and then practiced and rehearsed their scenes for this past Sunday’s presentation since the beginning of September.
Rounding out the cast, included: Amanda Erickson as Moses, Ted Northup as Pharaoh, Shawn Sharifi as Aaron, Anna Northup as Miriam, Nazir Sharifi as Ben, and MeiMei Arditi as Rachel.
Holding signs evoking freedom were young cast members playing Hebrew slaves: Lili Arditi, Alex Klybas, Connor O’Reilly, April Ransom, Chloe Rowe, Pelle Sandlund, Reva Sandlund, Kristin Serrand, and Lina Sharifi.
The members of the congregation of St. Philip’s Church in the Highlands invite the Philipstown community to attend and welcome children to participate in the Friday, December 24, Christmas Eve Family Service and Pageant at 5pm.
