John Gordon Hanna, Sr.

John G. Hanna, Sr., of Cold Spring passed away suddenly on November 20, at Hudson Valley Hospital Center. He was 65.

Born on March 26, 1945, to Gordon Hanna and the late Susanne Julian Hanna, he was the former owner of Hanna’s Service Station in Mount Vernon and was currently the owner of Shamrock Limo Service.

John was instrumental in forming the Philipstown Babe Ruth League in 1973. A former member and chief of the North Highlands Fire Department, he was an avid woodworker, hunter, and enjoyed bowling.

A husband, father, and friend, John made all who met him feel at ease with laughter. His family, children, and grandchildren brought him great joy and happiness.

He is survived by his devoted best friend and wife Michele Hanna (nee Timmons); loving Children John Hanna, Jr. and his wife Jennifer of Cold Spring; Suzanne Moulds and her husband Erik of Wappingers Falls; Michael Hanna and his girlfriend Tiffany Stoddard of Wappingers Falls; and Jeffrey Hanna and his wife Jaclyn; cherished grandchildren Julian and Shay Hanna, Tyler, Zachery, and Christopher Moulds, and Hayley Hanna; his father Gordon Hanna; sister Kathleen Naughton and her husband Gary of Scarsdale, and their daughter Kara Naughton.

He was predeceased by his mother Susanne Hanna. Friends may call on Tuesday November 23, from 4 to 8pm at Robert H. Auchmoody Funeral Home, 1028 Main Street, Fishkill.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday November 24, at 11am at Cold Spring Cemetery.
