On a morning where everyone was basking in the glow of the incoming spring, the Lady Blue Devils once again reminded everyone that a winter sport rules for at least one more weekend.  Each player was introduced individually and proceeded through a gauntlet formed by the cheering Haldane student body as they made their way to the awaiting bus.
After a few words from Athletic Director Tom Cunningham and Liz Milner (who read a heartfelt note from Assistant Coach John Merante), the girls made their way on to their resplendent ride, which had been passionately decorated by the team's parents.
The outside of the bus was adorned with photographs of each player, as well as their name and number, while the inside looked like something out of Disney ride.  Basketballs, stars and streamers hung from the ceiling celebrating each team member and the school's wonderful run to the league, sectional and regional titles.
Tonight, the team will hold one final practice before heading out to what will surely be a motivating team dinner.  Saturday's semi-final action begins at 12:30, against the top seed in the state, Arthursville.  If the Blue Devils can manage to grab the win, they would play for the state title on Sunday at 1:45pm.
