Barbara Cahill

Barbara Cahill, 80 years old, a resident of Fishkill, formerly of Cold Spring and Peekskill, died peacefully on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Newburgh. She was born February 2, 1931, in White Plains and was the daughter of the late William C. and Helen Minnerly Brumble.

Barbara was employed as a rural route mail carrier for the U.S. Post Office in Cold Spring for 33 years until her retirement in 1993. She was a former member of the Dutch Reformed Church in North Tarrytown and the First Presbyterian Church in Cold Spring and a current member of the Fishkill United Method­ist Church.

On July 26, 1985, she mar­ried Albert Cahill in Cold Spring. Albert predeceased her on April 18, 2010. She was also predeceased by her first husband, Lorenzo In­ness; a son, Gregory Inness in 1976 and a brother, William Brumble. Barbara is survived by her daughter, Pamela Mc­Namara of Fishkill, several step-children and step-grand­children and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 30, at 10am at the Cold Spring Cemetery, followed by a Me­morial Service at 11am at the Fishkill United Methodist Church. A luncheon will be held immediately after at the church fellowship hall.

Donations may be made in Barbara’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospi­tal, 1-800-822-6344, Tribute No. 28239748. Arrangements are under the direction of the Robert H. Auchmoody Funeral Home, 1028 Main Street, Fishkill.
