Mildred ‘Peachie’ Warren

Mildred “Peachie” Warren, age 90, a lifelong resident of Nelsonville, died on Thursday, May 12, 2011, at the Cortlandt Health Care Center in Cortlandt Manor.

Born August 24, 1920, in Nelsonville, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Ida Cornelia (Van Tassel) Warren. Miss Warren worked locally in the Hudson Valley as a battery assembler at the former Sonotone Corp. in Cold Spring and as a bookkeeper for Allen Coal Company in Cold Spring; and was a life member of the Cold Baptist Church (The Church on the Hill).

Survivors include three nephews Richard (Jean) Haight and family of Hingham, MA; Edward Cleary and son, and Chester Warren and family, both of Nelsonville, NY. One niece-in-law, Evelyn Haight and family of Stanford, CT, also survive.

Pre deceasing Miss Warren were one brother Chester Warren, Sr.; three sisters, Sarah Cleary, Lillian Haight-Lent, and Edna Warren; and nephews Frank Haight and James Cleary.

Services were held on Monday, May 16, at the Clinton Funeral Home, corner of Parrott and Pine Streets, Cold Spring, with interment following in Cold Spring Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Miss Warren’s name to the Cold Spring Baptist Church P.O. Box 299 Cold Spring, NY 10516.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Clinton Funeral Home of Cold Spring.
