Dudley Ray Brewer

Dudley Ray Brewer, 86, of Santa Barbara, California, passed away on May 17 after a brief illness.

Dudley was born in Cold Spring on May 19, 1924, to Leslie and Phoebe Brewer. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Bernice, daughter Dyan of Santa Barbara, and son Kevin of Milford, Ct., as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their families.

Dudley served with the World War II U.S. Army Occupation Forces in Germany. He enjoyed 30 years of retirement in Santa Barbara after a career of 26 years with IBM.

He enjoyed playing horseshoes at Oak Park, fishing at Lake Cachuma, refinishing and repairing furniture and was a lifelong Big Band music fan, a passion that he passed along to his children. The funeral service was held on Sunday, May 22, in Santa Barbara.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Dudley’s name to the Visiting Nurse and Hospice Care of Santa Barbara at 222 E. Canon Perdido Street, Santa Barbara, CA 93101.
