Putnam Valley Woman Found in Ulster County

By ERIC GROSS

The 54-year-old Putnam Valley woman reported missing by her family Tuesday was found Wednesday night at a motel in Ulster County.

Sheriff Don Smith told the PCN&R Thursday that Cathleen Venditti was located at 8 p.m. at the motel in the Town of Lloyd. She was transported to St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie and was admitted for observation.

Venditti, who authorities  said suffers from depression and was in need of medication, left her home at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday for an appointment in Croton-on-Hudson. Her husband called police after his wife never returned home after missing the appointment.

Smith had praise for law enforcement personnel throughout the Hudson Valley for what he called “teamwork that led to the safe discovery of the missing woman. Police agencies from Putnam, Westchester, Dutchess, Orange and Ulster counties worked around-the-clock with state police and family members; which resulted in the finding of the missing person days before Christmas.”
