Garrison’s Dana Gulley Completes Fire Fighter Training
As of January 12, The Garrison Volunteer Fire Company has a new interior firefighter. Dana S. Gulley, daughter of Nanci Ingram of Garrison, has graduated from Fire Fighter School at Rockland Community College (photo attached). She's now rated an “interior firefighter,” the kind that put on coats and air packs and fight structure fires from the inside.
Dana is a lifelong resident of Garrison; she was born here, and attended the Garrison Union Free School. She later attended the Lawrence Academy in Groton, Massachusetts, and graduated magna cum laude from the University of Vermont in May 2010 with a BS in Environmental Studies.
Dana joined the GVFC in August of 2011, began Fire Fighter 1 training in September, and graduated January 12. She is currently the Outreach and Development Coordinator at Riverkeeper in Ossining, and plans to attend law school in the fall of 2013.
Congratulations to Dana on this achievement, and thanks to all the volunteer emergency responders who serve our communities so selflessly.
