William R. Kohler

William R. Kohler, age 71, a 43-year area resident, died on Wednesday, January 4, 2012, at his residence in Garrison.

Born October 12, 1940, in the Bronx, he was the son of the late William Charles and Helen Mathilde (Morstadt) Kohler.

Mr. Kohler was an attorney with Kohler and Barnes in Fishkill, and served as counsel for the Village of Cold Spring for many years. His civic interests were many, including the Cold Spring Lions Club, Putnam County Historical Society, and the Chapel of Our Lady Restoration, having served all in the capacity of President. He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in the Judge Advocate General Corps from 1965 to 1969.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Patricia M. (King) Kohler, and one son, Christopher W. Kohler, both of Garrison.

All services and interment will be private. Plans for a memorial service at the Chapel of Our Lady Restoration in Cold Spring, will be announced at a later date.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Clinton Funeral Home Cold Spring.
