Robert P. Patterson, III

Robert P. Patterson, III, age 53, of Brooklyn, NY died on January 12, 2012, in Quezon City, Philippines, after suffering a cardiac arrest. He was born on April 3, 1958 to Judge Robert P. Patterson Jr. and the late Bevin D. Patterson.

Bob attended St. David's and Millbrook Schools and graduated from Middlesex School. He received a BA from Hartwick College and his CSW from NYU School of Social Research. He also studied for a postgraduate degree in Gestalt Psychotherapy. He worked as a social worker in Manhattan where he had a clinical psychotherapy practice until he was forced to stop as a result of a neurological illness, which he faced with much dignity.

He is survived by his loving wife, Cristina C. Patterson (adjunct professor at CUNY, NYU and The New School University), his father and siblings Anne Patterson Finn, Margaret, Paul, and Katherine.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:30 a.m., Thursday, January 19, 2012, at Our lady of Loretto Church 24 Fair Street Cold Spring, NY 10516. Following the burial in Cold Spring Cemetery, there will be a reception at the family home.
