Gillibrand Supports Local Students' Military Academy Goals

Matthew Giachinta, of Cold Spring.Matthew Giachinta, of Cold Spring.Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.), has announced her federal service academy nominations.

Among the local nominees are Matthew Giachinta of Cold Spring, and Nahm Doug Kim of Putnam Valley, both of whom hope to attend the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.
 
“Our service academies are distinguished by a devotion to honor, courage and commitment. I am honored to nominate these young, talented New Yorkers who exemplify these core values. It is my hope that the accomplished nominees have the chance to live their dreams and serve in our country’s armed forces with distinction,” Gillibrand said.
