Theodore W. Bumstead Jr.

Theodore W. Bumstead, Jr., age 93, of Cold Spring, NY, died on Monday, February 13, 2012, at Wingate at Dutchess Nursing Home in Fishkill, NY.

Born October 7, 1918, in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Theodore W. Bumstead, Sr. and Maude Bumstead, nee Leehrson.

Mr. Bumstead was the retired owner/operator of the former Economy Gas Company, Inc. in Cold Spring, NY. He was a veteran of the USMC having served in the pacific theater of operations during WW II and he attained the rank of sergeant and was discharged in 1946. He was a founding member of North Highlands Fire Co. Cold Spring, NY and member of the Marine Corps. League.

Survivors include his three sons, Theodore W. Bumstead, III and his wife Jane, of Kingman, AZ, Dr. Bruce W. Bumstead, DVM and his wife Irene of Croton-on-Hudson, NY, and Wayne T. Bumstead and his wife Angelia of Cold Spring, NY. Also surviving are his grandchildren Pamela Bumstead, Cheryl Bumstead and Theodore Bumstead, IV all of Arizona, De Anna E. Bumstead-Yeary and her husband Bryan Yeary of Alexandria, VA.

Predeceasing Mr. Bumstead were his wives Agnes P. Bumstead, nee McCann and Elizabeth Bumstead, nee Kraus.

Private cremation took place in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, Poughkeepsie, NY. Interment of cremains will take place in the Good Ground Cemetery, Hampton Bays, NY at the convenience of the family.
